Hi Crew - March long weekend a few of us have been discussing a road trip - fri - sunday, camp out and get some waves.

Options
West coast - for most of us un-sailed (7 hour + drive to Ellsiton or Pt Lincoln)

South east heading there for Easter so maybe somewhere different (4 hour Drive Beachport / Robe)

Yorkes - haven't sailed there - plenty of waves (and crowds) if the surf is happening - (4 hour drive Gleesons Landing / Marion Bay)

?Somewhere else - may have to call it the week before based on weather forecast

Not sure of the best spot for this time of year but really want some waves and wind (and a few surfs as well)

Any thoughts - or wind stats for that time of year - should still be some SE patterns - gotta have waves !!!!

Hey crew how about past robe and down to nene valley and cape douglas (pebbles) there is currently a place for rent at pelican point on the beachfront for $180 a week, easy half that for a long weeekend everyone bunk in and party, pelican pont is just down from carpenters rocks and fronts onto livingstons bay, mostly pebble and reef beachs in this area, top reef break waves, check google earth for this coastline. if you want Russ I can pm you the phone numbers for the accomadation. there is a pub in carpenters rocks and mount gambier is 30 mins away..

Im doing Robe if it is Windy. After two great sails in two days this weekend - with 30 knots and decent surf (although not huge), I gotta get some more!

I'm in doesn't Seacliff look great at this stage. Can't wait might have to do a morning and an arvo session.

The bbq and a beer sounds like a nice way to finish.

Sunday sailing as well and monday to recover, it doesn't get much better than that.

They have just changed the forecast again. Monday has green arrows now.

Far out that was huge change from this morning - now looks like Day street - which sounds awesome as there predicting 2-3foot swell

Might give any type of BBQ planning a miss in the future - just like Aus Day - forecast changes more than most people change their undies!!

These cut of lows are always a bit dodgy

I only use the seabreeze as a minor guide.
The BoM weather maps and writeups are a better guide.
Even the SWELLNET site has a better weather guide, if you read about the swell forcasts it gives a great indication of what the weather is doing.

It's green again!

Water and land map on bom is indicating 22 - 27 knot sw. I wont say too much though as we all know what can happen.

Agree and I am sure we all do the same - and you can take in local factors that the BOM don't - the Seebreeze arrow system is probably the least reliable - but its still amazing the difference between computer models in 8/24 periods let alone over 7 days
