After the success of his last flat water clinic back on the 13th of Feb Matt Lumley has a surf clinic on this Saturday (13th of Mar) at Ocean Grove.

It will start at 10am and finish about midday and the cost is only $30.

For those interested please let Matt know and you can contact him on 0409 553 618.

It will cover everything from beginners to advanced.. Bring your own board.. The weather is looking good.. (It's gotta be better than last time).. See ya there.

Oh yeah.. Matt will have his full quiver there so he might even let you try his new 8'4"..

This sounds great, Long time forum stalker first time poster.

Just a quick question. Is Matt accredited? And does he have insurance?

Just my friends been caught out before with some dramas with surf lessons.

I have my own board.

Hey Matt... Just wondering.. How will you deal with teaching the basic beginners just getting into the waves and the experienced paddlers at the same time?

Thanks Ronnie,

Does that mean you are heading down as well? Because the only problem I face is not having
racks on my car at this stage and my last experience with softies wasn't great.

Cheers.

he Rea, I will have a 10'6 Nalu you can borrow.

We are meeting to the left of the Ocean grove surf club. We will make a call, as i want to be away from crowds as well. We have permits for a few venues.

I will be down there just before 9:30.

DJ, the good part off what we can offer is still with a performance group, I will take them out in smaller waves to teach them technique. So it doesn't matter your level, we will cater for all levels, as there will be Cam Lampard there who is talented on a Stand up as well.

Okay I'm in. Big SUP weekend, with Friday morning RPS sunrise paddle, surf clinic with Lummers Saturday morning, and then the RPS race on Sunday morning. And if I get any spare time in between, it will be spent building my SUP shed.

Long time lurker first time poster in the SUP forum. I always seem to miss these great OG event days, which sucks especially as I'm a local in the grove, picking up a new board this week so would have been great, but it's my 2 year olds birthday, so can't make it. Any chance of a similar meet up in the not to distant future,?

Got along to the Surf Sessions intro to surfing with Matt and Cam today and had an absolute blast. Among the "students", there was a range of experience and skill, from an absolute beginner to SUP, to a total surf kook (yours truly), to some very competent surfers, to a particularly skilled long boarder rider. I think I can speak for everyone present in saying we all got a lot out of the session thanks to Matt and Cam. These guys do a great job, and anyone thinking of heading down their way to pick up some pointers, regardless of your skill level, I am sure you won't regret it.

Yes I totally agree...
Matt and Cam held an excellent session and the day was just picture perfect. From that one session I've already learnt so much that will assist me in the surf but also in flat water conditions as well.
All levels were catered for and I'll definitely be back for the next one.

Hey CMC,

your not the only one, its great that hes giving it a go. I think working with Lummers probably got the the ball rolling and he uses it for training or crappy days.
