He has had the "initial" lesson - body dragging on sand
In that case he'll probably need some medical attention...

i'm guessing he did body dragging in water... otherwise, he should look for a different instructor...
Start here with lessons:
BoardCrazy Belmont (02) 4947 7131
Kitepower Sans Souci (02) 9529 6894
Windsurfnsnow Collaroy (02) 9971 0999
X-Shore Diamond Beach (02) 6559 3000
Kitesessions (Lessons) Sydney 0410 937 222
$300 will not do much when it comes to buying gear. Although, if he already owns an inflatable kite, sounds like he only needs a board. You could get him a $300 voucher at a good local kitesurfing shop. Or just go with lessons if he hasn't had many. For $300 you should be able to get him at least couple of good lessons, and that would give him invaluable starting knowledge. If he has a full time job, he can get gear him self, at least you'll give him a nice incentive to go for lessons. Mind you, we are just about entering windless part of the year, so the kiting scene will be very slow til October...
