Hi Guys & Girls,
The course for the Greenline SUP Race at the Hyundai Malfunction will be decided on the Sunday morning at the debrief at 9.30am.

There will be two course options to be considered.

1) Start next to the Air Sea Rescue hq and race along the Cudgen Creek, around a buoy before returning to the starting line then running along the beach with your paddle in hand to finish in front of the spectators at the main surfing arena in front of the surf club. Approx 5 ks of paddling and a 500m run.

2) If the surf is flat, Start next to the Air Sea Rescue hq and race along Cudgen Creek, around a buoy before returning out through the mouth of the creek. Paddling along to a buoy and in to the beach for a short run to the finish. Approx 5 ks paddling and 100m run.

The decision will be made with competitor safety & comfort the main priority.

does it really matter????

idealy it would be great to have all the classes, but as time and money are the biggest factors in hosting an event, especially for a newish sport i guess we have to take what we can. Only will more come to the sport if more participate. its kinda the chicken or the egg theroy, which comes first??? the competitors or the compettion???

girls competeing in this event can still go in it and treat it as a race, and even get times done for the women only...sure they may not be first accross the line, but is that what it is really about?

Some of these big Stand Up chicks would wop me.

They have shoulders bigger than most men.

is it a beach or water start, might have to get a longer legrope then the 6' if it's a beach start. i certain person couldn't run into the water at noosa because his leggie was too short

and some of ""these big Stand up chicks" would have great pleasure doing so... big deal if we have bigger shouulders than most men... its a by-product of doing a sport we love that involves those muscle groups... you dont see many good paddlers out there without a strong upper body...even with females.
