The backup sport is required around this time of year-I had a great weekend surfing, skating and mountain biking. I don't even miss kiting at the moment.
I've taken up skating (longboarding), but it hasn't filled the void yet, not as good as a summer Sunday arvo sea breeze. I am getting a **** load of work done however.
I heard that the apparent wind is stronger during winter etc? i.e that 12 knots is around the same as 15 knots of dry summer wind? Is this crap or should i be pulling the 12 metre kite out on these 12 knot days?
I believe that you are referring to the density of the air- cool days the air is more dense and therefore more powerful.......just like when I come down the beach and start talking a hot northerly hits.
Funny though- not sure if marginal conditions will be a problem this arvo.....
