Ok I have to ask for a poll on this one!

There are more and more stories appearing with SUP riders in boardies over wetties!

What are your thoughs?

I say:

Totally agree. But by all means, if you want more reasons to be laughed at, go ahead and wear them. I guess some people must think it's fashionable?

Wrong...wrong..wrong.....if you are wearing a crutchless wettie then its OK..otherwise it should be banned....whats the point?

I guess the point would be that most wet suits don't have pockets for cameras.

That's why you hang them around your neck. Camera that is.

It is a wake thing that moved into kiting about looking cool.

Has been said it is for those who are insecure about their look it a wetsuit.

It is gay

I'm with Phil and further I think that grown men shouldn't be taking cameras out in the water and photographing themselves, and posting their mid life crisis as it unfolds in public. It's very unappealing.

Unappealing? I guess that all depends on how big their... ummmm... mid life crisis is.

I'm against Oliver, well just because I am against Oliver, but I think take as many cameras out in the water as you can

Take go pros, videos, shoot on the beach from submarines, helicopters jet skis just have fun especially if you having a mid life crisis.

Then post it on seabreaze.

So Phill you would be one of the very few to understand that the next board I add to my quiver will be chosen on the basis of camera storage and mounting potential.

I do hear you Oliver, BUT.... I do quite enjoy a shared picture or movie of events unfolding....

Boardies over wettie, not for me, but it doesn't bother me either.... some people may be embarrassed about the figure clinging suits.... others may need a pocket for slim-line water resistant camera....

back in the day of sailing, we used to wear boardies over weetie for a little protection to the wetsuit.... Wetsuit were comparatively more expensive back then....
-------
Actually, I've just seen a potential market for skin coloured wetsuits !! Then pull the boardies on !!
-------
The face palm was harsh, but a little funny !!
-------
DJ does have a point about the ballet dancers, etc.... but people in Torquay have become very used to the whole wetsuit thing (with out boardies) for quite a few decades now.... (since 1969)

Cameras in the surf:

I read a great article about the popularity of gopro cameras and the psychology behind it. It reasoned that the Internet and Youtube generation is basically increasing regular peoples desires to have their 20 seconds of fame. Everyone wants to be famous these days. Video it, post it to the net and let the fame begin.

Myself, I know that the sun even shines on a dogs nuts sometimes so I'll just wait for the western sun to hit the right angle upon my tail. I don't own one yet and it is a long way down my list of things I need. I do like watching them though. I'll help ya be famous by adding to your numbers.

As for boardies over wetsuits. Pointless. Ridiculous. Superfluous.

Boardies over compression pants: Necessary, I dont want to see where the squirrels keep their nuts.

Nice topic Phil. I am not a fan either. Infact it reminds me of something else that I hate - girls who layer their clothing.......wearing skirts over jeans.......what are they thinking????????

Yeah my 6 year old daughter wears shorts over her leggings/tights and she thinks she's da bomb. I tried wearing footy shorts over my compression skins and the whole family laughed. And wouldn't let me leave the house.

Im for the boardies over the wetty.
Pretty cool standing out the back with your hands
in your pockets, especially with the cold weather
we been having. Also good place to keep your car
keys. (p.s. dont use it if you got a fancy door remote)

I quite like the ballet and I have tried fencing but it was a bit too Errol Flynn for me.

As long as they dont rock up to OG and display it at main beach I'm fine with it PMSL.

Its fine for a 6yr girl to wear that. Grown woman who should know better though is a whole different story..........

Considering when you are standing out the back waiting for a set, the cobblers awls are pretty much at eye level with anybody sitting on a board waiting for the same set, I figure I'm doing everybody a favour by wearing boardies over my wetty. In fact, I say It's gay not to.

Hey lovin your work there Scuba!

I dont think boardies would assist in that situation?

And you will need to wait for a XXXXXL wide board to be made!
