Toowoon Bay which is about 15 mins north of Forresters Beach is good in a southerly for all levels of sailing. You can stay in the bay or venture out past the point for some waves.
Cheers

Wave sailing is good at Umina Beach in a southerly, S/Easter, S/Wester (mostly onshore). Also good at Toowoon Bay in a southerly (side-shore). Kiters are also present.

Forrester's Beach is only really good in a N/Easter. Bit tricky getting out so not recommended for a newbie. Not many N/Easters predicted lately.

Flat water sailing is good at Koolewong (most directions except westerlies) and Green Point (both on Brisbane Water). No weedie needed. Further north is Canton Beach (flat water) but you will need a weedie. Booties also recommended at these locations.

Your combination of board/sail and your ability level should determine where you go.

Good sailing.

Thanks a lot for all the good tips. Am looking forward now to a good weekend of windsurfing.

ps i've got a 145l jp freeride with a 5.5, 6.5 7.5 sail wich i all got cheaply of the net.
And well, ability I'll just have to see. The mind is willing and keen just don't know how much the body still remembers almost 20 years ago that i windsurfed, but should be fun anyways.

Depending on the wind a good place to launch is north of The Entrance. There is a turnoff a bit down the road where there is a boathouse on Tuggerah Lake. You don't need a weedfin there. I don't think booties are needed there as you launch into fairly deep water so there is no need for wading.

Too easy. Smiths Lake in a SEster, Wallis Lake in all other directions. A weedie can help in Wallis from time to time

Same mistake I made. Forresters Beach is on the Central Coast, a bit south of The Entrance.
