Great pics Sean.
Could someone give me a Google Maps location (or GPS figures) for parking to sail the lake in a Westerly.
Edit: And is a weed fin recommended?
Thanks
what type of board was the guy riding in the first pic with sail "ra311"
it look supper wide
and what with the red sail , it look like the sail goes pass the boom end
is that so they can use smaller boom but keep the big sail ?
question , what size sail were all you guys using ?
that black with yellow/green/lime sail look cool i want one
To answer a few of the questions:
Jeffro, we figure if the tinny drivers dont obey the 8 knot rule then we are exempt
Lake Dangerous works in most winds except due north & south. Yesterday was WSW tending SW, its gusty (so is most places in Sydney) but you can find pretty flat water upwind under Pipeclay Pt.
It can go from 5 knots to 30 in a very short area.
Ra311 is Big mike or Wysey. the board is a iSonic 131 and a 7.6. One day he will come out of the closet
Most guys were on 6.5 to 7.0. You need a floatier board for the gusts (except S.Parker who was on a 65 ltr speed board).
Weed fins are optional, if its been blowing the same direction for a day or so then yes. But yesterday was fine on a pointer (I used a 36)
The place is called Bilarong Reserve off Wakehurst Parkway at Narrabeen.
Hope this helps.
Yeah boys, i had to use the 131 isonic as the westerlys on the lake aernt very consistant. I started on the 101 isonic and was flat out sinking, fun. And youd be suprised, that 131 flys like a mofo, well not quite but it pulls a 30 most times
And Larko (ka73), when did u get a sense of humour? lol you big HOMO....
Who? Larko homo... I can't imagine, but as the great Jerry Seinfeld said: "not that there's anything wrong with that, peoples personal sexual preferences are nobodies business but their own..” JE JE JE
Great pics Seano.
