All depends why

the 08 9'8 starboard which is what you have by the sounds is a good board in smaller waves.
Other factors we need to now are your weight, conditions you surf and experience
im 75 kg been surfing a good few years short board and mal and paddling for a year now allso windsurf slalom and wave and also take the sup out with a sail for float and ride
conditions varey a bit but i normaly only pic the good days to paddle in and sail the rest so anything from 2' weak ish beach break waves on the south coast here up to 6-7' angain mainly beach break waves in cornwall on the west coast here with the average and most common being a 3' harbor wall little wedge type wave
cheers charlie
Going on the info about the waves your riding and being in the light weight catagory you'll love the 9'0 stinger or similar. If you have the opportunity to demo boards, then try as many possible around the 9ft range. Naish and Coreban do some nice shorter boards now too.
Not sure if the shorter SUPs will have ability to connect sail though, maybe the SB will.
Good luck
