what about the poor fins he's standing on, on dry land....
Besides that, I would guess the general drag of a normal leggie would be 2% compared to the drag of the board.
Speaking of legropes, I find the "Kommunity" brand a little stiff. Ocean & Earth, and Balin are my preferences, plus they are Australian Made (or at least were made here, probably made in asia these days.... can someone confirm?), and Australian Owned.
Also, if you are an SUP only surfer, don't underestimate your legropes. Go long (9 or 10 foot), and thick !! Sup Boards feel like they have about 4-6 times more pull on the legrope compared to say a 6'6 shortboard.

Some newbie kiters and kooks use them (I use that term to describe their skills and not their personal attributes).
The purpose is so they spool out but don't recoil like a stretchy leash. That's not really applicable to a SUP.
They're pretty horrible and prone to break.
