east Queensland coast for the next few days.

Weather Situation - Queensland Gulf of Carpentaria
A high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge along the
east coast. The high will shift east towards New Zealand over the next few
days, maintaining a weak ridge along the east Queensland coast.

A high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge along the
east coast. The high will shift east towards New Zealand over the next few
days, maintaining a weak ridge along the east Queensland coast.

Weather Situation - South Queensland
A weakening ridge extends along the east Queensland coast. Northerly winds will
freshen over far southern waters during the weekend, and should strengthen
further on Monday as a trough moves east over the southern interior of the
state.

South East Gulf of Carpentaria: QLD-NT Border to Cape Keerweer

Forecast for Saturday 25 October until midnight
Winds: East to northeasterly 15 to 20 knots tending northwest to southwesterly
10 to 15 knots during the afternoon. Seas: 1 to 1.5 metres, decreasing below 1
metre around midday. Weather: Sunny.

Forecast for Sunday 26 October
Winds: Variable about 10 knots becoming east to northeasterly 10 to 15 knots
before dawn, then tending northwest to southwesterly 10 to 15 knots during the
afternoon and evening. Winds reaching up to 20 knots offshore south of
Kowanyama early in the morning. Seas: Around 1 metre. Weather: Sunny.

Winds: East to northeasterly 10 to 15 knots tending northwest to southwesterly
during the afternoon. Seas: Around 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres

North East Gulf of Carpentaria: Cape Keerweer to Crab Island

Forecast for Saturday 25 October until midnight
Winds: Easterly 15 to 20 knots, tending southeast to southwesterly 10 to 15
knots south of Cullen Point during the afternoon, then tending east to
southeasterly in the late evening. Winds reaching up to 25 knots offshore north
of Cullen Point in the late evening. Seas: 1 to 2 metres, decreasing below 1
metre around midday, then increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres later in the evening.

Winds: Easterly 10 to 15 knots tending southeast to southwesterly during the
