Weather Situation - Queensland Gulf of Carpentaria
A weakening high pressure system in the Tasman Sea extends a ridge along the
east Queensland coast. A new high will enter the southern Tasman Sea today and
then shift east towards New Zealand, maintaining a weak ridge along the east
Queensland coast.

then shift east towards New Zealand, maintaining a weak ridge along the east
Queensland coast.

Weather Situation - South Queensland
A weakening high pressure system in the Tasman Sea extends a ridge along the
east Queensland coast. A new high will enter the southern Tasman Sea on today
and then shift east towards New Zealand, maintaining a weak ridge along the
east Queensland coast. A trough will enter the southeastern interior of
Queensland on Friday and become slow moving.

South East Gulf of Carpentaria: QLD-NT Border to Cape Keerweer

Forecast for Thursday 23 October until midnight
Winds: Easterly 15 to 20 knots, reaching up to 25 knots offshore south of
Kowanyama in the morning. Winds shifting west to southwesterly 10 to 15 knots
in the afternoon then becoming variable about 10 knots in the late evening.
Seas: 1 to 2 metres, decreasing below 1 metre around midday. Weather: Sunny.

Forecast for Friday 24 October
Winds: East to northeasterly 15 to 20 knots tending northwest to southwesterly
10 to 15 knots in the late afternoon then tending southeast to southwesterly in
the evening. Seas: Below 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres during the

metres offshore north of Cullen Point later in the evening. Weather: Mostly
