Weather Situation
A broad high pressure system lies over southeastern Australia and is expected
to shift slowly north during the weekend, maintaining a firm ridge along the
north Queensland coast. A new high will develop over southern Australia early
next week.

Forecast for Saturday 4 July until midnight

Winds: SE 20 to 25 knots, decreasing to 15 to 20 knots during the afternoon.
Seas: 1.7 to 2.2 metres.
Swell: SE to 1.5 metres through the Capricorn Channel.
Weather: Isolated showers.

Forecast for Sunday 5 July

Winds: SE 15 to 20 knots, decreasing to 10 to 15 knots south of Gannet Cay during the
evening.
Seas: 1.2 to 1.7 metres.
Swell: SE to 1.5 metres through the Capricorn Channel.
Weather: Isolated showers.

Forecast for Monday 6 July
Winds: SE 10 to 15 knots, reaching 15 to 20 knots north of Gannet Cay during the
morning.
Seas: 1.2 to 1.7 metres.
Swell: SE to 1 metre through the Capricorn Channel.

Forecast for Tuesday 7 July
Winds: SE 5 to 10 knots, increasing to 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon.

Weather Situation - Queensland Gulf of Carpentaria
A broad high pressure system over southeastern Australia extends a firm ridge
into western Queensland and southern Gulf of Carpentaria waters. The high will
move slowly north while weakening during the remainder of the weekend,
gradually relaxing the ridge. The high will move east into the Coral Sea on
Monday and continue to weaken with ridge along the east coast weakening further.

Weather Situation - North Queensland
A broad high pressure system lies over southeastern Australia and is expected
to shift slowly north during the remainder of the weekend whilst weakening. The
ridge along the east coast of Queensland will also weaken during Sunday. A new
weak high will develop over the south of the continent early next week,
maintaining a weak ridge across southern Queensland.

Weather Situation - South Queensland
A high over southeastern Australia extends a ridge along the east coast of
Queensland. The high will weaken during the remainder of the weekend and shift
slowly north. A weak trough will most likely move east over southern Queensland
waters Monday evening.

South East Gulf of Carpentaria: QLD-NT Border to Cape Keerweer

Forecast for Saturday 4 July until midnight
Winds: Northeast to southeasterly 10 to 15 knots tending southeast to
southwesterly in the late evening. Seas: Around 1 metre. Swell: Southeasterly
below 1 metre. Weather: Clear.

Forecast for Sunday 5 July
Winds: South to southeasterly 10 to 15 knots, reaching up to 20 knots offshore
in the morning. Winds tending east to southeasterly early in the morning then
tending south to southeasterly in the late evening. Seas: 1 to 1.5 metres,
decreasing to 1 metre around midday. Swell: Below 0.5 metres. Weather: Sunny.

Winds: South to southeasterly 10 to 15 knots tending east to southeasterly

Forecast for Saturday 4 July until midnight
Winds: East to southeasterly 10 to 15 knots, reaching up to 20 knots offshore
north of Cullen Point in the evening. Winds tending south to southeasterly in
the evening. Seas: Below 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres offshore north
of Cullen Point later in the evening. Swell: Southeasterly below 1 metre.
Weather: Mostly clear.
