Weather Situation
A high in the Great Australian Bight will extend a ridge along the southern
Queensland coast over the next few days. Winds in the Great Barrier Reef
offshore waters will gradually freshen during the week.

Forecast for Monday 26 January until midnight

Winds: N to NW 10 to 15 knots becoming variable to 10 knots during the morning and
increasing NE to SE 10 to 15 knots in the evening.
Seas: 1.2 metres decreasing to below 1 metre during the morning and increasing to 1.2
metres in the evening.
Swell: E to SE below 1 metre in the Capricorn Channel.
Weather: Isolated showers and thunderstorms.

Forecast for Tuesday 27 January

Winds: NE to SE 10 to 15 knots, increasing to 15 to 20 knots from the south during the
day.
Seas: 1.2 metres, rising to 1.7 metres during the day.
Swell: SE 1 to 1.5 metres in the Capricorn Channel.
Weather: Isolated showers and thunderstorms.

Weather Situation - Queensland Gulf of Carpentaria
A broad area of low pressure will remain over western Queensland during the
next few days, with fresh northwesterly flow across Gulf Waters.

Weather Situation - North Queensland
A broad area of low pressure will remain over western Queensland during the
next few days, with moderate to fresh northwesterly flow across the far north.
A weak southeasterly change is likely to reach southern waters by Tuesday.

Weather Situation - South Queensland
A weak ridge extends through South Queensland Waters. A trough will move
northwards during today producing a southeasterly change, while a ridge will
build along the southern Queensland coast following the passage of the trough.

South East Gulf of Carpentaria: QLD-NT Border to Cape Keerweer

Forecast for Monday 26 January until midnight
Winds: North to northwesterly about 10 knots. Seas: Below 1 metre. Swell: North
to northwesterly below 1 metre. Weather: Partly cloudy. 70% chance of showers.

Winds: North to northwesterly about 10 knots becoming west to southwesterly in
the morning then becoming north to northwesterly in the late afternoon. Seas:
