Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure extends along the east Queensland coast. The ridge
will strengthen late today as a new high centre develops over the western
Tasman Sea before slowly weakening during the forecast period.

Forecast for Thursday 27 November until midnight

Winds: E to SE 10 to 15 knots.
Seas: 1.2 metres
Swell: Less than 1.5 metres through the Capricorn Channel.
Weather: Isolated showers.

Forecast for Friday 28 November

Winds: E to SE 15 to 20 knots.
Seas: 1.2 to 1.7 metres.
Swell: Less than 1.5 metres through the Capricorn Channel.

Weather Situation - Queensland Gulf of Carpentaria
A weak ridge of high pressure extends along the east Queensland coast. The
ridge will strengthen later today as a new high centre develops over the
western Tasman Sea.

ridge will strengthen later today as a new high centre develops over the
western Tasman Sea.

Weather Situation - South Queensland
A weak ridge of high pressure extends along the east Queensland coast. The
ridge will strengthen later today as a new high centre develops over the
western Tasman Sea. A trough and associated southeasterly wind change will most
likely enter far southern Queensland waters during Thursday afternoon and shift
north.

South East Gulf of Carpentaria: QLD-NT Border to Cape Keerweer

Forecast for Thursday 27 November until midnight
Winds: Variable about 10 knots. Seas: Below 1 metre. Weather: Mostly clear. The
chance of a thunderstorm offshore north of Kowanyama later tonight.

Winds: Variable about 10 knots becoming north to northeasterly 10 to 15 knots
early in the morning then tending northwest to southwesterly in the evening.
