Thanks for first user review I've seen. Currently winging with Duotone Glide 2.0 900 and Carve 3.0 800, thinking of Crest 800 or move to AFS Silks. Had quick go one Crest 800 and was impressed, when a bit light it pumped up way better than Carve 800. Can you say how the Silk 750 would get up compared to Crest 800 which helps me choose size, and once up how Silk compared to Carve 800 which I found vert comfortable is strong winds, rough seas and head-high waves
I ride the Crest 800 a lot with the recommended monobloc tail. I would say size wise the Silk 750 is in the same size category. Silk feels a bit smoother and even more efficient. I found the Crest 800 to feel more efficient than the Glide 900 D/LAB which I'm using a lot for parawing. The AFS skinny masts are a bit stiffer, thinner and shorter chord than the Duotone D/LAB slim 2.0 mast (I'm using the 84) . Control on both the Crest and Silk are excellent... Crest has a bit more front foot pressure for me... I would be happy with either on a good day, but there's something extra special about the turning of the Silk that is calling me. Crest is maybe a little bit more stable but I am using a small stab w/ the Silk. We have relatively strong winds and voodoo chop here. most used wing sizes are 3.5 and 3.0 with a bit of 4.5. I've parawinged the Silk v1 850 and Crest 800 as well and plan to do the same with the v2 750, but also got a 950 specifically for parawing. I'm ~88kg... parawing on 70 or 90l boards, wing mostly on the 70l.
Need to get some more time on the 750... only have two sessions so far, but as it stands, it's the one I reach for if it's not out for demo. Slik 850 was my daily driver for a long time... only the Crest 800 got me off it as it seemed more efficient in glide and pump while still maintaining excellent control and turning.
