I started my sailing at age 19, ocean racing on a 44foot cutter Sea Bee out of Sydney Harbour. Competed in Sydney Hobart Race that year and next. Single handed dinghy racing in the Solo (Jack Holt design www.solosailing.org.uk ) for about 20 years, now converted to cruising mode with 2 jibs and oars and rowing seat.
