Ryan then unscrews the cap on the High V adapter, threads the line through the newly exposed hole, and loosely screws the cap back on, ensuring the adapter can still be adjusted. With the lines entirely laid out, the user can now measure and position the adapter in the correct location based on their kite’s intended high V split point. Once the placement is dialed in, the adapter is tightened down to prevent slippage. A thoughtful feature included by North is a small protective sleeve packaged behind the adapter—this sleeve is slid over the line at the contact point, reducing wear from friction. If the sleeve is lost or unavailable, Ryan suggests occasionally loosening and sliding the adapter to a new position to prevent excessive wear on one section of the line. The next step is to prepare the flagging line similarly. Its pigtail is removed to expose the thinner end, which is then threaded through the circular opening in the adapter. Once both lines are properly routed, the pigtails are reattached, and the adapter is securely fastened. With this, the conversion is complete—the bar is now configured as a high-V setup, fully compatible with kites that require this configuration.
