kitesurfing or windsurfing it doesn't matter, hitting 56.62 knots is pretty damn impressive . alex will be here for the L2L open water race this decemeber .

Do you think the potential is there for the outright speed record to be shattered by hydrofoils? I know Heineken just blew everyone away in racing... but they've traditionally been stronger in upwind/light wind speed than strong wind broad reach. I do remember seeing the french company making them say that they're tuning different foils for different speeds.. I think the potential's there, maybe.

That is pretty crazy and extremely impressive . Not sure if Hydrofoils will enable a kite or WS to be able to out run the likes of the Vespa Sailrocket with its ridged sail and extreme ballast purchase of the hulls.

At that speed i would think that the existing weted surface of the board at that speed would already be less than a Hydrofoil. Or would it ? Would love to see it never the less .
