Yeah man. Who can remember any AC/DC riffs? They're not memorable at all. They're not some of the best hooks ever written.

Every snob that thinks they know music better than everyone else knows that the best songs can't be simple.


Now the intro to Thunderstruck is playing in your head.

Sometimes in guitar big pyrotechnical solos are not the best to listen to. I personally love the way ac doc stuck to pentatonic blues scale e minor and just produced so many great riffs. It means average hacks can learn the smile scale and emulate an acdc style sound. Also, people both beginner and advanced can learn something about blues riffs and scale use from angus. Yes his songs are very simple but sometimes simple is best. Some with Rolling Stones. I think the music is timeless and shows what the solid basics in guitar can put together.

I would have to agree mastbender. He may not be the best guitarist in the world, but who else can head bang while doing a duck walk or jumping around the stage and not miss a note.

Yes I was going to mention the same as above... Malcom was guitarist original and a few years older than angus. Encouraged Angus to play lead guitar so 'he could drink at the pubs'. Instead I think it was a selfless decision.

"era"s never end, they become golden oldies, aka classic R&R.

It appears that they will continue to tour, Malcom's nephew has already stood in for him on their last tour, so he just may be continuing to do it.

No, the Strolling Bones should have hung it up long ago, IMO. It always surprises me at how much they get for their tickets, and they usually sell out. Mick is 70! Let your hair go grey already! And you too Paul!

I agree with what Grace Slick said in an interview long ago, something to the effect of 'many old rockers can be an embarrassment, they should know when to quit'. She said that shortly after she retired from performing.
