G'day peoples, a headsup for the Mandurah estuary.
Was sailing with Hardy this Arvy, on the Western side of the estuary just north of the Dawesville cut.
We had been doing some runs stoped for a chat at the sandy patch near the northern Red chanel marker in about waist deep water.
Just as Hardy hopped up on his board and a 2 1/2 -3m shark coming flying out of the chanel straight past me and after Hardy, fortunately he got of quickly, what scared the crap out of me was that it turned around and then came after me, I can tell you I have never pumped a sail that hard in my life!!!
Realistically it's probably gone but with the aggresive nature of this one I felt I had to post this.
Got to go and hose out my wetty now theres a bit of aroma in it.

Bloody hell! You we're pretty lucky by the sounds of things. Makes you think about how many you probably sail passed on the Swan River!
By your description it sounded like a bull shark.

you are more likely to get bitten by a bullshark in a river than the ocean... I find it ammusing that someone was attacked by one in the collie river... what did it look like when it went past you... like could u see its fin and stuff... or just a grey blurry object with big teeth?

I didn't see it, but when Elmo described what happened, definitely sounded like a bullshark somewhere around the 3 metre mark.
Pretty scary, I haven't sailed the estuary since, we've had really high tides there, maybe a reason for them coming in?
Elmo warned the local kitesurfers that were there on the day, but I think everyone needs to take heed?
