Just wondering if anyone's had any dealings with this site?

Seems to be plenty of what are supposed to be the big brands at good prices.

Alibaba.com is an online trade hub for importers to find suppliers, or for exporters to find buyers.

The "big brands" will most likely be fake stuff, which will get confiscated and burnt by customs. Not to mention every supplier will most likely have a minimum order quantity, which will be a lot more than needed for personal use.

Yep. Fair call about them possibly being knock-offs but from my vast knowledge of Australian Customs laws ( which consists of watching Border Security ) wouldn't they only destroy them if you were importing a commercial quantity to on-sell to poor unsuspecting Aussies?

Also, some I've found so far have a minimum quantity of 3 kites which they're prepared to do in different sizes. Others, with different brands, have a minimum buy of 6 which would be a quiver each for two people if you found someone else that was interested.

I'm not naive and am obviously taking the prices and products with a grain of salt which is why I was chasing feedback from anyone else who may have used the site.

Cheers.

looks a bit too good to be true.....
all last years kites though so may be genuine.
can't help thinking if they had that many to shift they could list them on e-bay and they would walk out the door.
that said how awesome would it be if it was real....

(correct me if wrong)

If over $AU600 you'll pay GST: +10%
All prices are in $US: + 60%ish and rising...

Plus shipping.

What happens if not what you ordered, or is damaged?

And what if you ordered this snowboard:

I have made some enquiries in the past and have recieved emails with the persons first name like "Dave,Sam,John"....doesn't sound very chinese to me.
There would be some legit sellers though but it's a matter of finding the right ones.
remember everything is made in China!

As "braad" has said its really for bulk ordering.

I've visited a few of these factories personally and when you go to purchsae the question is usually 'how many 1000 items do you want'! I've bought single units on the basis of 'samples' (mainly clothes and musical instruments) to take home but.

The Chinese adopting english names is common place because us western people (esp.me) are generally to dumb to remember their chinese names. I have many chinese friends here in China, even a Luiggi which was given to him when he work for Fiat over here. So don't let that name thing bother you. You can ask them for their chineese name if you wish.

Hint, if you do buy from a company in China whether it through alibaba or otherwise do your research on business etiquette in China and treat these people with respect - in general they are the most trusty people you will ever deal with and they take great pride in thier work.

BTW China has $2 junk shops too! its not there usual product quality - you get what you pay for there too.
