Hahahhaa

WA had (and initiated) Rally Australia which was a massive earner and the favourite of all the team drivers.
It ran successfully for a great many years.
It was the only round of the world championship with a dirt track in the middle of a capital city, even better next to the picturesque river - bringing what is normally held 200km in the bush, right to the masses.
Roundly acclaimed by the world.

So the Govt and tourism mob fk'd it off.

As if WA could be entrusted with F1

Total agree,as I was one of many volunteers that was involved with Rally Australia. The Event was huge for tourism into Perth, and was later shown to be costing the Sate Govt very little. So what did the Tourism Minister of the time(Mark Mcgowan/"Mcdonkey") do.... fk'd if off -and he now thinks he has a chance to be the next Premier of this State

the frustrating thing with that was the govt wasn't apparently getting enough of a return on their dollar to deem it worthwhile, forgetting the impact the rally had on towns like mundaring and the income it brought in .

Might have talked too soon.

Albert Park packed out for 3 days. Over 100,000 attended Sunday.

Good race. Well televised but whats the deal with channel ten these days.
Spent far to much time plugging some new gay breakfast show, as well as other crap on air soon. Better when its just motorsport.

Yeah, but Gwendy, the winner led from start to finish. Thats not racing, is it? A better track would help.

Ol Ch10 they just dont get it do they. I work for a reasonable size group, and CH10 had good following in mornings. Then some punk arsed kid in CH10 programing had a brain snap, gee lest see if we can UMERICANISE OUR MORNING NEWS .!!!
Not one person likes this Zyloom approach format, and listening to some tossbag tell me about traffic in Brisbane at 6.30am WST, that's just a big ugly WTF!!!!
Most of workmates have switched to Auntie, or at least CH9 at a pinch.
