Unfortunately with a well set up DDOS attack (using bots), it is very hard to defend against. Your only real method is by 'over provisioning' your expected peak demand network traffic.

There's no way a site like seabreeze "goes down" like that from an external attack. Look at the footage people, open your eyes! This was an inside job for sure. "System failure" my arrrse. The server is built to withstand all sorts of external attacks. A standard DDOS attack from 4chan could only attack at 4000 pings per second, it would take at LEAST 8000 pings per second to bring down a seabreeze server. And what about the boards site?? I heard a rumour it went down too WITHOUT ANY ATTACK. No way that's a coincidence.

Yes my first thought was DDOS.

I recognised that there may be a 'fire sale' so I thought back and lucky I had seen Die Hard 4 so busted out the rifle and some tinned food - and then seabreeze was back again. Phew.

But yet even after the site came back online you were seen at IGA stocking up on powdered milk, baked beans and asking if they still had any dragon stone in stock?
