Hi! Good people just wanted to let you know the missus and I went to see the movie Australia today. We thought it was exellant. Kind of wanted to get your thoughts on it. I resently got to atend an Auseralian Pink Floyd consert as well. They put on a great show. the music and vocals were exellant. couldn't tell the differance from the original group.

Haven't seen the film, however they were promoting it a lot here, all the actors were crapping on about what a great film and a great place Australia is then they flew back to their homes in other countries.

The thing I find a bit strange is they're playing those tourism ads here to see Australia that use the aboriginal lad in the film.

Its a bit hard for us not to see Australia as we live in it!?!

I saw it, it was ok. NKs acting was not that great. The Aboriginal acting was awsome, thought they did a great job very authentic.

I thoroughly enjoyed it.
In oz, cutting down the tall poppies is a national sport. I am not sure if the people who slagged the movie were doing a bit of tall poppy pruning, or whether they really didn’t like it.

That is true, but on the flip side we also have a reputation for bigging up home bred stuff. At the end of the day it wasn't a good movie. And it wasn't a representation of Australia in that era. It was Hollywoodised and it was embarrassing. And it's not just me saying that google Australia and review and you'll see the critics were quite scathing.

Im afraid anything with Nichole Kidman in it is not 4 me , her last few movies have all been flops anyway . Where would she be if she hadnt married that snorkelhead Tom cruise, .... by the way has Nichole been seeing alot of Micheal Jackson lately , cause she seems to be turning an unhealthy shade of white!!
