Not sure if there are any industry types out there that can help or comment.... (or other women for that matter

)
I am a pretty tall woman. 180cm or just over 5'11" in the old money.
I am also very solidly built particularly in the legs/arse (I'm a track cyclist). My avataar is me

There are plently of women taller and larger than me.
Although it's a zillion degrees here my thoughts are turning to getting a steamer wetsuit so I can continue stand up paddling over winter. Both big surf shops I have gone into have pretty much turned me away, "try to get a custom suit" I'm told. According to the size chart on the O'neill wetsuit site I'd fit a size 16 - but the importer allegedly doesn't bring that size into Australia - or so I'm told.
I just find it weird that I can buy off-the rack womens' motorcycle leathers. Cycling clothes. Normal clothes! But in surfing, you can buy "mens" or "girls"!! It's the sport where men are Men and women are 'girls'

Is this endemic, and is it part of the reason why there's so few women on the water?
Does anyone have any suggestions? (other than finding a O'neill size 16 to mail order (but then I can't try on), or getting a custom made?) I have worn men's wetsuits in the past but don't want the shoulders/arms to be loose for SUP...
