G'day!

I'm off to Budgewoi for a weekend in a couple of weeks and wondered if you could sail either Budegewoi, Birdie or Lakes Beach? Which is the best for a NE and a Southerly, or is it worth driving North/South for better conditions?

Also can you go out on the lakes around there - eg Tuggerah - as a few mates are coming who want to learn.

Thanks in advance!

Canton beach Toukley is the go, esp for learners - not sure wich is the best direction for it though.

Crash,

If it is N/E, head to Birdie beach in the Munmorah State Recreation Park. It is one of the best N/E spots we have up here. Also if there is no swell anywhere else, that palce is a bit of a wave magnet. It can be cross to cross off and get windy. Good DTL riding...make sure you pay your Park entry fee of $7 or you will get a fine 0f $70 from the ****** park rangers. A few guys normally sail there. Also not a kite in sight.

For the people who are beginning you can basically take them anywhere on Budgewoi lake or surrounding lakes. All of them are shallow most of the way out.

Canton Beach is a good option for blasting or teaching in a S/E, S, S/W as the place faces south. Usually a number of lake sailors there.

For a southerly option head to Toowoon Bay, south of the Entrance. You could also teach people here in the bay and have a good sail yourself on the point. The only down side is there is usually about 10-15 annoying kiters there also. Bit of a plague actually.

Good luck with your weekend, might see you at birdie...Peto
