There is a new bump feature in the my listings buy and sell.

For a $1.99 you can bump your add to the top of the list (This was free) (now you have pay )

Has anyone used this feature? How long does your add stay at the top for the extra payment? Do you think this is a rip off?

For those of us that use the buy and sell feature of this site a lot. I think its a rip.

You can always put an add in the daily paper.
That will serve two purposes.

1/. you just might sell whatever you're selling,.. just might,..so don't count on it.

2/, It will give you a better idea of what a rip off is.

$1.95, thats cheap. For me to get a real estate ad bumped cost me around $600.

I see what hobie is saying - until recently you used to be able to open your ad, edit it and it would automatically bump it to the top. Obviously the majority have worked this out and the owners of this website have realised that they can make a few extra bucks from it... can't blame them imo.

Close.

Initially, it was a "bump when you edit" system.

So, folks started "editing" their ad every day.

.. then it became a "bump if you drop the price"

So, folks started dropping/raising their prices every day.

.. then it became a "bump after 30 days"

So, folks started complaining about not being able to bump / everybody bumping

Ultimately, no matter how we configured it, people sought to tweak the system to get their ad to the top .. understandable!

Ok.

It was suggested a simple low payment to discern the "seriously want to sell my gear" from the "I'm obsessed about being at the top" crew, so we are gibing it a go, and feedback so far has been positive .. this topic is the first negative I've heard.

Not having a dig but having a dig. Its $2 man for a possible $1900 sale ---- MOVE ON
It cost you $2 worth of energy to type the message.

Looks like it's all green thumbs to me.

I've always found seabreeze to be the fastest and most reliable way to move my old gear.

Agree, no negatives - just discussion and clarification. Great site for selling and buying and a couple of extra bucks to give you premium location is well worth it imo.

The thumbs seem to be speaking. I just sold a bunch of junk in Canada to get rid of it before we came back to Oz, I would have spent way more than $2 to get a better price than what I got, damn fire sales.

Yes I have listed my gear on seabreeze.

You need to ask questions to get answers.

Hey Laurie how about being able to categorise your gear as Wave, Slalom/Speed, Freeride, Freestyle etc in the search feature, would make it so much easier to find what you may be looking for than the current size/length feature or trying to use keywords.
