Hi All, I have an opportunity to pick up an inflatable tender for a good price. Problem is the guy has no paperwork as he claims he bought it unregistered as well. Does anyone know how to check if it's stolen and also what would be involved in re-registering it. Thanks

A stat dec is needed stating were you bought it from, (Stat dec to accompany a Hin App) that photo ID and the boat and i can organise the Hin number. As for rego you need another stat dec (Stat dec accompany prove of ownership) registration application form and drivers license and you can then register it over the counter at Hillarys..If your unsure ring me or pm as I'm a registered him provider..

Just to show I'm not looking to advertise for work, ill even do it for FREE

Thanks JB that's a very generous offer but the boat does have a HIN. After doing a bit of research I think I'm more worried about the seams than anything else. Boat is a Mk 2 zodiac which has gone past it's warranty so I'm not sure if it's worth taking a punt on.

WA DOT Website indicates the following do not need to be registered

Yachts, canoes, surf skis and other craft without motors are not required to be registered.

Tenders to larger vessels are also exempted, provided they:
1. Are no longer than 3.1 m
2. Have engines no bigger than 3.73kW (5hp)
3. Are used only as lifeboats and for ship-to-shore transport.

The only thing with a tender, is it is to be used from larger boat to shore only. Technically you can't even run to another boat with it.

Yes boats Chris

Mitchbat even if it has an hin number, that number needs to be registered and if not then you need the certificate..

Having said that cheap inflatables can be an nightmare..
