Just got this mail about car jackings.
Spread the word.

Just last weekend on Friday night we parked on the foreshore at Mandurah and as I drove away I noticed a sticker on the rear window of the car, (when I took it off after I got home) it was a receipt for petrol, luckily Ken said don’t stop as it could be someone waiting for me to get out of the car. Then we received this email yesterday.
BEWARE OF PAPER IN THE BACK WINDOW OF YOUR VEHICLE

NEW WAY TO DO CAR JACKINGS

(NOT A JOKE)

Heads up everyone! Please, keep this circulating... You walk across the
parking lot, unlock your car and get inside. You start the engine and shift
into Reverse.

When you look into the rearview mirror to back out of your parking space,
you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So, you
shift into Park, unlock your doors, and jump out of your car to remove that
paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view. When you reach the
back of your car, that is when the car jackers appear out of nowhere, jump
into your car and take off. They practically mow you down as they speed off
in your car.

And guess what, ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car. So now the
carjacker has your car, your home address, your money, and your keys. Your
home and your whole identity are now compromised!

BEWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS

NOW BEING USED....

If you see a piece of paper stuck to your back window, just drive away.

Remove the paper later. And be thankful that you read this e-mail.

I hope you will forward this to friends and family, especially to women.

A purse contains all kinds of personal information and identification
documents, and you certainly do NOT want this to fall into the wrong hands.

Please keep this going.

Last year I saw a carjacking take place across the road from my work's place in Port Moresby. The victims pulled off the road into their driveway, and stopped to open their security gate (every joint over there is surrounded by barbed / razor wire), when the rascals pulled in behind them, jumped out and ran to the drivers side, pulled the driver's head out and put a gun to her head, pulled her from the car (screaming), and then took off with their new vehicle. All this interupted the guy next door who was smashing down the wall of the house with a besser block, as his brother had been knifed and killed out the front gate the week before, but the guy who did it and his family had fled, so he wanted to smash their place down. He was quite nice about it, apologised for the noise etc. After the carjacking he looked at us (sipping g&t and beer under our place), shrugged, and went back to his demolition. I was with a new guy working for us from Perth, and he was like "and how often does this happen?" "better than the telly" I said.
This is just how it happened - we don't want our cities (or country) ending up like places like Port Moresby.

Ive programed (wow programing cars) to only open my door when i pussh the button. Less optortunity i guess for them. Easy to do to the car, in instruction manual. To open all doors it only requires another click.

Yeah, my sister sends stuff like this to me all the time. Always says, "pass it on, not a hoax, for your own safety" etc etc.

Just like the story of having a good time in New Orleans and waking up in a bathtub full of ice and missing your kidneys. Its a load of ****.

Another case of utter crap and total gullibility. How can people pass this kind of RUBBISH around without AT LEAST checking on the Web. This piece of specious garbage has been around for yonks. Go to www.hoax-slayer.net/urban-legend-car-jacking-scheme-warning-paper-on-rear-window/ and see for yourself. And for the sake of all of us, check this kind of thing out before you contaminate others with it!!

Thanx johnboy for the web site.
I had no idea about this site.
To be fair, in todays world anything can and does happen hence the gullability but now I know how to check for these rogue mail offerings I shall endeavour to be more careful with any forwardings in the future and you can rest peacefully in the knoweledge that you have educated yet another pleb who knows zip about such annoying antics which happen in cyberspace.

Greatfully castigated

Yeh its a pitty that one... thats why I left

But you'll generally find that places like Cape Town aren't nearly as bad as some of the inland provinces.
