Does anyone please have any advice / suggestions on the best type of car seat covers for when it gets hot??? I am sick of getting home or to work with a sweaty back - and summer is only just starting. Sadly my little car does not have air con and I drive for 1hr 15min to get home and it sucks in the summer sometimes........it was mentioned to me that these (below) might be a possible solution - yes they look terrible but do they work? For me its all about function not style!!!!! Or is there something else out there that will do the trick?

Thanks!

Ok maybe I should consider a new car.....but the old girl is still dominating the freeway and I get 550 km for $35 which is just too good to lose!!! And spending more on a car means I have less to spend on other things........

The local up the road has been $1.38 unchanged for months now. When u buy a dinner at the local sports / bowling club you get 10 cents a litre off your fuel so $1:28 is about it. Great system I recond. The Coles / Shell shop is normally anywhere from 1.33 to 1.45 depending on the day of the week.

Ted, I used to use one of those wooden beaded covers in my old hilux (with vinyl seats), it worked ok but was a bit of an 'acquired feel'. Consider also using the humble beach towel; just poke a couple of holes near one end for the head rest to go through and away you go. You can have a couple on the go and throw one in the wash when grubby.

Very original SandS.......I live on this side of the ditch these days which is why I have concerns with hot days!! Maybe I should see if some of the Westies can send me over some goat skins.....rumour has it there are possible a few spare ones floating around.

with that kinda seat cover you could charge anyone getting a ride with ya a Fare

I've not seen many taxi's without one in the drivers seat, must be something to them I reckon.

Its a good idea ted i just recently has a golf ball sized boil on tailbone . Ouch .. The airflow or anything to prevent the sweat form building up is a good thing for the "hair follicles" if you do a substantial amount of driving.
Dont worry about the new car It will only get full of sand and salt water.. Run the old one into the ground and get your moneys worth out of it !

Ok fellas thanks for the advice - I purchased a wooden beaded car seat cover from Super Cheap for $19 and have jus had my first drive with it in......although they look very uncomfortable they are not....too short a drive to determine if the air holes will give me a break.

Cheers.
