Does anyone know some good spots so sail in the bay to avoid chop caused by the
SW breezes?

Don't think such a place exists on the Eastern side of the bay. Maybe on the North side of one of the yacht clubs (Sandringham, Brighton or St Kilda) ? But that'll also mess up the airflow. I think kiters get away with it because they are catching the wind much higher up so it isn't so messed up.

Solution is to get a small free-wave board and carve up the chop.
