I am about to engage the services of an engineer to do some preliminary work on a duplex block development in Coogee (wa).
For now its all just levels & retaining - pre-inspection, specs & drawings for permits & quoting, works inspections and signing off etc. (All the usual stuff I guess)

Offering here to my watersport mates before hitting the yellow pages.
PM if you, or your business, has all the necessary creds & you are interested.

ps: the site has a permanent 15kt+ wind work ban.

Sorry mate.

I...
1 - am living on the other side of the country making the commute a bit of an issue.
2 - would be a liability on a site
3 - have forgotten more about CivEng then I probably ever knew.
4 - am doing something similar myself this winter over this side so wouldnt have the time anyway.

Good luck

Again sorry mate, I match the WA and engineer criteria, but don't know anything about civil, I'd probably end up loading the whole site full of explosives and blowing it up. Good luck.

Couldn't a competent builder do what you require? My dad is a semi retired builder, currently working as a tradesman at the age of 70 in the USA, a working holiday. He could do this sort of stuff and did this sort of stuff during his professional life.

Maybe WA has different requirements but it seems a bit overkill to require an engineering degree to be able to plan a retaining wall and plan out what seems to be straight forward work. Maybe its all the sand over or something but I would have thought any civil engineer would be earning big bucks in the mining industry in WA.
