Sorry for all the propellor head jokes a couple days ago... now I need you. Sorry sorry honestly

WhyTF!!!!!!! do I change my computer time in Control Panel, save it, and then it reverts back a bit later to the original time?????? Daylight saving is too hard for a f^&king PC to understand???

Didn't happen last year.

Then again comp is running hell slow, full of some jizz site viruses and worm thingo's.... so maybe it is that?

Help?

Look after your computer as you would a car. Service regulary
Get these freebies which will help

CCleaner www.ccleaner.com/ download it tidy up unused files, extensions etc (dont used advanced unless you know what you are deleting or back up at least)

Get avast! virus protection from here (free home edition) www.avast.com/

Get a firewall (if you need it) Zone alarm www.download.com/3000-2092-10039884.html

Adaware spyware cleaner/protection www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad_aware_free.php

Also probably worth defragging your hard drive, you can do that with a variety of applications but the one on your accessorieds is probably good enough.

To change your clock......for me i double clicked my time in the bottom right hand corner changed clicked on time zone clicked the box that says automatically adjust clock for time zone required, clicked apply. All is well

I'm running Zone Aalarm, using Ad-Aware, Spybot and Privacy Guardian regularly, and scan with AVG. Tried Registry Mechanic with small improvement.
Maybe the jizz viruses are of the more hardcore variety

Sounds to me like you did not install the WA daylight savings patch. Had the same problem last year.

Look in the internet time tab in the Date and Time Properties. Make sure it's not checked, otherwise your PC will always go out to the time server and get GMT, add 8 hours and reset the system clock.

Of course it could me something else....incorrect time should not make it run slower, or (this is a wild guess) maybe you have some kind of desktop indexing software installed, like Google Desktop and it's re indexing because the timestamps might be different.

Who knows...

Instead of trying to change the time, change the city from Tokyo to the one that says 9+GMT I can't remember the name of the city, but that might work.

Mark slow running computers is usually caused by to many processes running in the background eating your memory .They come from **** add ons that you have downloaded like toolbars ,quiktime etc . The best thing you can do is start again
Back up all the files you want to keep and reinstall windows.Once your done don't install anything like that puss off the net and you shoudn't have anymore problems.
There are other ways to fix your problems without reformatting but it's fairly involved and you have to know what your doing ....delete the wrong process and you have to reformat anyway
P.S. only bummer is downloading all the XP updates again

gs12 has the answer.

You are set to Perth time (+8) and your computer is automatically updating the time from the internet.

You just need to check the daylight savings box in the "time zone" tab.

You will not see this check box if you did not install the patch (available only to genuine Microsoft customers)

The easiest workaround is to set time manually and then go to the internet time tab (on the right of the picture above) and uncheck adjust time automaticaly.

Other alternatives are:
- Use Tokyo time
- The seriously GEEKY option: enter daylight savings info to registry manually (this should give you some ideas: support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/914387/how-to-configure-daylight-saving-time-for-microsoft-windows-os)
- Buy legit copy of Windows.
- Do not use windows.

Figured it out and it proves I'm too dumb and you people are all too SMART cos u went for the highest order options.

I changed time and clicked OK .... didn't click APPLY.

Stupid computers, on every other panel it is OK... except this one.
