Hi there, I am a teacher in a country school, we have introduced an Outdoor Education unit to our curriculum.

Guess what the first project is ? "building land yachts", at this point I might just add I am a female teacher who had never even heard of a landsail, coming from Tassie I had never seen a salt lake either.

Well!!! we help, in the form of old or damaged sails and masts that we can attempt to recycle into a sail for our yachts. So please if you have some laying in the garage, think of us.

We are 6 hours away from Perth but can arrange pick up any donated materials. I will thank you all in advance for your generosity.

I'm of to practice my welding, (another burn another bandaid), cheers Lynda.
Please leave messages for me on this site or email [email protected]

Lynda needs stuff up to 6.5m. ideally sails with lots of dacron. the more modern monofilm stuff is a bugger to recut. BUT the battens and mast pockets can be used. So really any thing she can lay her hands on. weve recut original windsurfer sail successfuly before .
Ive volunteered to do all the cutting and sewing for the project. Her efforts so far have been great . Any masts or even broken stuff can be recycled. . Any help would be great as the kids doing the work will otherwise go off making dust on quads, or hanging about shopping malls instead
