I'm currently sitting here bored off my brain and wishing for the days when we had some good ol' comedy threads on Seabreeze, (and I don't mean the troll stuff thats bugged us lately)

Anyway I thought it would be interesting to hear some of the crazy pet names you've given your, or others have given, pets.

The funniest one I can remember was a dog whose name was Arser.
He was a working cattle dog and when the guy (my dads mate) went to pick him up, he asked WHY is the dog named ARSER.

Turns out the old guy who raised/trained him called him Arthur, but because he was a bushy and also had no teeth, the only thing the dog would respond to was Arser.

Made me laugh anyway.

Any others?

Damn I thought you meant what we call our partners. Usually snookums and all the soppy crap.

Best I saw was a neighbours dog called Mully........ cos he wouldn't leave the owner's horticultural exploits alone and kept eating

Have another mate with a dog, whose real name is April, but its affectionately known as "Bugger2Bury" because they live in Roleystone.
(Roleystone is a suburb in our hills where there is no soil, just rock)

before we got married, my wife shared a house with her brother. She wanted to get a cat and her brother said OK, but on the condition that he named the cat when she bought it home.

She got a nice (if cats can ever be nice) long haired cat and bought it home. Her brother then called it "BUM HOLE". He used to tell people that he named it after what he used the cat to wipe when he ran out of toilet paper (it was a long haired soft cat!)

It got lost once, and upon threat of death and celibacy, I had to roam the neighbourhood calling out "BUM HOLE, where are you BUM HOLE?"

Of course, the car was sound asleep in the cupboard. Pretty soon after that I moved to another town.

A mate of mine let his three or four year old daughter name the dog.

He's called Licky Four Paws.

My kids liked Gladiator as well as Phantom Menace when they got a cat. The names they liked were Maximus and Padme. The poor cat copped Maximus Padme which was soon shortened to Maxi-Pad. We had two fluffy persians called Left and Right 'cause they were going to be slippers one day. Right died early but fortunately for Left was not in a fit state for conversion to footware. Would have been better than Garfeild slippers!
