No longer completely wireless but anyway portable.

Annoyed by constant flat battery for my power tools , few years ago I did convert some to use external power bank.
Lithium battery from my electric bike 24v 10-20Ah require now to recharge only few times a year.
Some of my drills come with 2 NiCd batterries and already dead- so I removed battery and soldier an 2m extension cable with cigarette lighter plug.
Cigarette lighter socket is attached to battery.
Small inbuilt electronic controller allow to set-up any voltage from 0 to 24V

Now I can work as long as I want without worrying about flat battery. Drill is even lighter to handle without battery, just need to carry this battery bank near to the work place.

I suppose the future for all battery tools is now additional plug and cable the could connect any tool to small battery bank. Tool is still portable and never will run out of juice.

I still could quickly disconnect cable and put standard battery in place, but for work that require more and longer work I could use my portable battery bank.

Carrying that heavy battery pack around all day would be a pain in the azz.
Would need a heavy duty tool belt to carry that load.

I think he said it is lithium (ion), so it should be relatively light.

Battery pack is indeed about 6kg so i usually put on the ground and work in this 2m radius then move battery to new position.
I guess for somebody doing heavy drilling or screwing could be put into small backpack.
The point that could work whole day without worry. There are new systems with interchangable tools for same battery so connector plug may work for all of them within same stadard. Ordinary lithium battery is usually 1 - 3 Ah at 18V = 18 to 54 Watt hours since my battery pack deliver 24 x 20 = 480 Watt hours .
Additionally battery pack is able to provide much higher peak current in AMPS - up to 1000 Watts power when needed.
Since such battery pack cost $230 on eBay (plus shipping) there is good value for money also.
I use the same battery pack for my electric line trimmer, electric boat winch -used as a crane-, lights , blower , hedge trimmer , pretty much every battery tool I want.

What more. I do use even my 24V battery power pack with inverter to run any tools up to 1200W 240V without worry to carry extension cords across my land.
