Totally agree Mark, though the little wrapped solid Cadbury eggs are f&*ken nice. Problem is stopping once you start eating them. What is that stuff in really nice chocolate that makes you want to eat more?

I'm not a religious person, neither am I against religion (each to their own) but I want to know why the date of Easter changes every year, when Christmas is the same (25 December ) every year? From what I know, it has something to do with the equinox and the passover, but didn't the crucifixion happen on an actual date?

PS. I love the fact that I have two boys who are 2 of 3 total grandchildren in our family, therefore, as a chocaholic, Easter is awesome for me!!!

The whole Easter festival is so absurdly confused, once apon a time an Anglo Saxon Pagan spring feast in honour of the goddess Eostre, who liked to hang around with a hare, celebrated today after much ecclesiastical argy bargy on the the first Sunday after the Paschal Full Moon, which is the first moon whose 14th day (the ecclesiastic "full moon") is on or after March 21 (the ecclesiastic "vernal equinox").

The only sensible thing to do is eat bilbies.

mytchook, tobes is right, Easter, like Christmas, has nothing to do with that bloke who might have lived 2000 years ago. Instead, both are Pagan festivals that the 'church' tried to ban, couldnt, so instead made up an event to correspond with the time of celebration. Still, cant complain with a holiday, even if you dont understand why we have it!

Yes, Easter has to always be on a full moon, so they get good waves for the Bells Beach Easter surf comp.

I think we should maintain Easter as a Christian festival, all this focus on eggs and bunnies is perverse, bilbies are equally inappropriate, you should be giving your lived ones chocolate crucifixes

As God intended

Clear as mud. That must be what they learn for the theology degree

That's really ecumenical. So pagan rituals like getting pissed and going to the footy or the mud wrestling aught to be acceptable.

Easter - anything goes WHOO HOO.

The difference between paganism and boganism is sometimes hard to discern.

I went to the burnouts last night and they opened the night with a 10 minute prayer.

some poor buggers have to work.
Like the bus load of poor coppers who had the Norseman road blocked off to greet a big mob of holidaying bikies. good on ya lads , keep up the good work
