Well the Australian exchange rate is really high at the moment, and has been fairly high for a while now, with people predicting parity with the US dollar in the near future.
Why then do sunnies (Oakley's) retail for $135 USD in America and $250 AUD here. It just doesnt add up. Someone is pocketing alot of money from the exchange rate difference and it isnt the consumer.
Am I the only one that thinks we should be getting the benefits of a strong economy?
If anyone knows of a legitimate reason why there is such a price difference, can u please let me know. It isn't duty (We have a FTA) and GST doesnt make up that much difference. Shipping of a single item is around 20 bux, and I imagine they would ship them here in large numbers so it would cost a lot less.
