Hi guys...
Does anyone know if you need a fishing + abalone licence
for recreational fishing from shore in SA?

I do know ab's have to be taken past the intertidal line.
Many Thanks Gyp's

That's what I thought I read....
but with WA laws being as tight as they are.

I just wanted to make very sure.

No worries. There sounds like there must be a holiday coming your way. If so enjoy.

WA Abalone has the shortest fishing season in the world I think? Plus someone drowns almost every season. So one death every ten hours of the season, not good odds.

Yep, though the WA season is only 5 hours each year.
Love abalone, good luck Gyp's!

I had to google that to check if it's real - that is nuts! As bad as duck season over here.

We went for a dive a few weeks back & the abs were everywhere covering the rocky ocean floor! Ended up with a nice feed - less than bag limit (by choice), but enough for all.
