“Foxtel” should be renamed “F**kall*.

F**kall TV, only ads!!

I won’t even go to the other “free to air” mind numbing ad after ad after ad torture stations.

Whose palm was greased to allow SBS to advertise - apparently to save money? Sure, I so believe we can’t afford it, when you compare the amount of income from ads, against the bucketloads of money the government pours down the drain.

Sure, the stations need to profit, but there is a difference between profiting and profiteering, and watchable TV and the mind numbing ad riddled TV that is currently on air.

AAARGH!!!!

TV is an opiate. Whether it is designed as such is debateable but it is ****ing frightening how many people live by it. There was a time when it was watchable but that is long gone.

Last show I watched was a tri nations match and even that gets screwed up by crap commentators and moronic ads.

I had Foxtel years ago but that fell through the **** house floor when they introduced commercials.

Thank god for the internet!

By a Tivo or another DVR. I never watch TV in "real time", just record, watch later and Fast Forward all the ad's.

Now is the time to send CONROY (Labour communications minister) your point of view.

I believe that pay TV should be just that.
You pay and do not get ad's.
1) you should not pay to get ad's.
2) It is stealing the revenue source for free to air TV and as such should be legislated against.
3) How on earth can free to air stop Syphoning of what ever pay TV choices if they are having the financial rug pulled from under their feet. (Like global warming not immediately obvious but change is rolling thru').

So if you like to watch sport and you do not want to pay for ("the eat my menu list or pay for another but you are not allowed to cherry pick your preference even if it is your money") sporting TV service then send an email to CONROY...

Legislate to make advertising on Pay TV illegal in Australia.

So CONROY needs to have alot of people send a clear message.
U Can pay for TV - no worries but no white anting free to air. Keep the playing field level(er).

And now for something completly different...
We actually had some wind today + it got put to good use!!

foxtel never used to have adds . they just realised they could make more money from both subscribers and advertisers .

unless people stop paying for foxtel because of adds they will remain .

I just ring up foxtel every 3 months and complain and state how i am going to download all the shows i watch on foxtel without the adds and i am currently paying $25 a month for HD sports . win in my books as next week foxtel gets SPEED HD

Japie, I agree the rugby commentating is shocking. Clarky, Kearnsey and the other guy whose name eludes me, are like three witches at a cauldron and woe betide anyone not an Aussie, whether it is be linesman, ref, player or manager, when the Wallabies are losing – it is open season to dis them, truth notwithstanding. You have more chance of getting pregnant than receiving an unbiased commentary from those three.

Thank God for the internet?! Have you noticed those full page ads that pop up on MSN? Give it a few years and some bright spark will have worked out how to get one of those to pop up every time you click on a link.

Thanks AquaPlow I’ll drop Conrad a line, but I don’t hold much hope. The media is where the pollies advertise, and it is the TV station’s discretion how much air time they give, and also how they interpret and report the spin, which is what wins or loses elections and is ultimately what determines whether they have a job or not. If I was a Polly, I would be stum with my opinions.

Good news though - 4 cracking days of wind in a row!!
