Last nights rain got the Floreat Drain flowing for the 1st time in a while.

Water coming out is evil looking! The slick stretches all the way to Scarbs in the impact zone!

Don't swallow any water if you do the downwinder this arvo.

You could end up looking like this..........

Should result in good fishing though

Small sharks, rays and maybe even a decent mulloway or two.

I wouldnt panic.

Mate and I walked/crawled our way up the pipe for god knows how far many years ago. Thought the light we could see was an access point on the other side of the highway. Turns out it was the other end !! Took us a while to figure that out.

No long turn effects beside this dam itch and rash ....

Thank god there was no flash flood. Just another dumb thing bored teenagers do

So guessing it's a 'drain' as mentioned (stormwater), therefore should be no real health issue apart from the standard gross stuff moved with flooding water. If it's a sewer outlet, it should also be ok as I'm assuming that the effluent would be treated to 99.5% potable water anyways? Or is that not a reg in WA?

If your walking by, keep an eye out for little oblong turtles that always find their way into the drains and dont survive too well at the beach

I am sailing a lot in the Ocean Reef area and noticed a big patch of water always covered with birds and of a diffferent color, it is I have been told the effluents from th local sewer treatment plan...... birds look happy as the water is containing little salt I guess.
