I was flying at Cott roundabout yesterday with a few other hangies haveing a ball when one kiter chose to rig and sail in front of launch. We asked him if he could relocate, he said he would but didn't. This created quite a dangerous situation as the kite was often higher than us and there was one close call. We all experienced the terbulance from down wind every time he came close which is like standing on the side of the road when a truck drives by, very unnerving.
A glider dosen't need to be physically hit to be taken down, it can happen from 100 meters away upwind. Anyway it was only one guy who dosen't understand the physics of flight so I thought I'd bring it to attention for everyones safety, happy kiteing.

That would have been me cwamit, got my wings about 3 months ago and haven't looked back. It just keeps getting better and better as most things do for the first time.
WA is loosing it's only instructor next month so won't be takeing on any new students, though he will be doing tandem flights down in Albany from boxing day for a week before he goes. Another instructor is in the process of reinstateing his intructor rating. Another option which is a good one is Dynamic Flight in Vic who can get you rated in a one week course, would make for an interesting holiday alternative.
Random facts;
Most afternoons if it's blowing a 10 to 20 knot westerly we will be just south of Dutchies so drop on by.
There are around 3000 pilots in the HGFA with the average age being 48yo.
If you pull out a camera they will show off for you (or if your a cute girl).
They love to talk about there sport.
I'm happy to have a go at answering any questions you might have.
