Just wondering who is running NOS on the street.
Was thinking of a hidden fogger set up. The idea is to make my drives to work a little more fun, nothing more.

i know what you mean, i have always had nice fast cars, but now have a family, so was after cheap thrills

have been thinking of the nissan stagea and XR6 but manual. Going to get back in the house market in the next 6 months, so i guess something better will have to wait until then.

I think stageas are getting a bit long in the tooth? I personally think once a car hits 10 years old, its not worth the hassle.

Ford on the other hand loose most of their value and if you get a late model BF/BF2 you'll have a bulletproof engine. The manuals really struggle to get off the line and the factory clutch is rubbish but i put an AP Racing clutch in and it was great with 350rwkw and loads of torque. I sold it with the intention to get into a GT. How life changes

NOS is a consideration AFTER the accepted stages of mods being
- breathing, in and out. ie filter and exhaust
- then maybe moderate head work and a strong bottom end
- then some proper head work and silly gearbox and diff

You don't just bung a 50Hp NOS kit on a bog stock car. AT LEAST do the filter and exhaust. Then you could stick NOS on but don't expect it to last

Thanks for the tips. 50-70hp should be ok on standard motor as long as you use slightly colder plugs and reduce the plug gap. Ensure it stays on the richer side of a/f ratio.
I would make a window kit from jaycar so it only activates full wide open throttle between 2500-6000rpm. Any more than a 70 shot then start looking at exhaust, more fuel and forged pistons etc.

Do TRD offer a supercharger or is there tuning software available for your model? Maybe a better alternative to gas.

Years ago i went for a spin in a blown TRD Aurion. It wasn't a bad car, fast and fun for a non performance car. I know its hard to go from a fast and fun car into a slow and boring car but surely making a slow car a little less slow isn't worth the money?

You're thinking of running NOS in a Camry??? ...I'm sorry but that's possibly one of the silliest things I've heard here.

Just ditch the camry and buy another family friendly car that is either already relatively fast or has a power-train that is responsive to modification. You're going to achieve absolutely nothing by putting NOS in gutless motor attached to a chassis designed for comfort and price, not handling.

....or you know, don't drive like a dick on the roads.

Hate to be the kill joy but when you say you want to make drives to work a little more fun I take it the wrong way. But like I said why not get into some form of racing even if it's karts.

I was close to buying a super kart for that reason. But looking at buying a property, that will have to wait.
NOS is exactly the same as having a turbo and does the same thing... More fuel and more air (oxy)
A small shot won't be a big deal. Everyone seems to be caught up in the idea of nitrous used in movies like F&F. Just like when they change into 11th gear in a race.
I didn't start the thread to discuss whether the average Joe should have 100kw or 400. Anyone with a full license can go down to ford or Holden and buy a 300kw car. I was in one last week with a guy who couldn't drive the best. Now that's a worry. Oh the R8 Axel tramped like it didn't have IRS so I don't think you can say it's designed for the power.
