Hey fellas, I've just been doing some research on Harry's Hut and the surrounding camping areas, and found some great information and photos on this site.
advrider.com/f/threads/day-trip-south-east-queensland.293833/

However, I'm actually going camping for the first time ever in a few weeks... With all the Year 7's at the school I'm at atm....

Any advice on camping, the area or such... I haven't been able to find all that much; don't need any advice on the kids lol!

Hiking 14km in there on the Monday and canoeing 10km out with 4km walk on the Friday.

Cheers =]

hey liz,

i've canoed there from boreen a few times in the distant past. so i havewn't seen the revamp or anything like that.

my advice would be don't leave food outside your tent at anytime during the day and kkep your tent shut up at night.

i saw the biggest goanna's ever at harry's hut. they weren't aggressive but they are the size of small crocs and leaving food around is just asking for trouble when camping.

keep the tent shut up stops them coming in at night to cuddle up. that will also keep the snakes out too. lots of snakes around at the moment coming out of hybernation.

oh and take the rid.

have fun. very nice spot.

if you see a goanna, don't stand still ... it'll think you're a tree and run up you

Time has come to bid you all farewell, and prepare to leave for Harry's Hut at 6:30 tomorrow morning....

No computer...
No phones...
No soft bed..
No shower.........

But endless water, canoeing, tubing and swimming for 5 days... Ignoring the 14km hike in.....

oh, and the 67 x 12 year olds LOL

Signing out...
