No its not those faux motown wannabees loved by channel 9. Its a strange but entertaining filim on SBS tonight.

10.45pm here and it started at 10pm so you have a chance to watch it. It may not be to your taste but for me its a little more interesting than the average American film.

Could you stay a good looking hairy girl who loves you or go with the seductive French assistant?

As the Bene Gesserit reverend mother asked Paul Atreides "Are you human or animal?" Sorry completely off tangent but the film does ask questions about what humans are.

Strange how this film sums up the paradox of our situation. We are killing the planet through exploitation. We desire an easy life of 25 degrees, a glass of wine, T-Bone steak, philosophical discussion and sex. When given the chance to go back to the life we are designed for, we refuse it, giving into our desires and jump into the car with the sexy assistant.

A typically out there (and interesting at times) Charlie Kaufman flick (Adaptation etc). Probably not his best work, but at least it's not your typical boy/girl schlock.

Never been a fan of Rhys Iffans or Patraicia Arquette (although she does give some stage time to her best assets ) and Tim Robbins is pretty funny. Miranda Otto (from Oz) is the psuedo french assistant. Almost worth viewing just for her scene in the slinky stuff.. noice.
