Let me say first up,anybody who has taken their full quota of shots should get greatly reduced health premiums. On the accepted assumption......

If you've been drinking and brushing your teeth with the fluoride, then certainly a reduced dental premium.

Yeah, but in Australia if u don't, the government steals 1.5% and laughs at you; where as if you do, it only steals 0.5% and look at you with grimace.

I prefer the Spanish system: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_National_Health_System

You pay a monthly fee > you get a card > what ever you need, you're covered.
It worked and it was value for money... at least for a resident back 90's.

Everybody should be entitled to health care, we do over here... but it's a rip off system... ie we pay way more than we get out... $180 to see a Dr for 15mins! and then paper work to get $70 back from medicare!

In Spain there are still private hospitals, but since they can't compete with publc, they offer very exclusive care.

Your doctor is a thief !!

Mine charges about $60 to $70 for a visit.

But if you're talking about a specialist - well the sky's the limit there.....

Ophthalmologist charged me $320 ($100) for a retina image, made me wait 3hrs only to tell me "sorry mate, that's caused by stress and we can't do anything about it".

Medicare gave me $70 back.

Dermatologist: $240 for a 10minute consultation... sorry that's caused by stress take this cream see if it helps... turns out the cream is liked to my eye problem!

I farking hate Drs.

They're paid way too much cos supply is artificially restricted resulting in the bizzare situation of labour supply being less than demand so they can charge what they like

Daughter has Juvinile Arthritis, Soma Soma $ 240 for 5min check up and $1000.00 for steriod needles in affected joints. Luckily health care pays the majority, but the attitude is for each new inflamation another injection. Now seeking alternate opinions/medicine.

Superfoods won't help much if you have an accident and break some bones.

As Flysurfer says, if you earn a very modest salary in Australia the government effectively forces you to take out private health insurance by stealing from you if you don't. A policy brought in by that party of small government and champion of individual liberty, the Australian Liberal Party.
