Yeah that was brutal to watch, they just dont get it, The french guy copped a flogging, it was brave and stupid to come back it would be interesting to know what was discussed before the third flogging and the commentary from the Australians reminds me why I dont surf anymore, retarded behaviour,
Thats not aimed at all surfers just some of the behaviors you see that are accepted.

Pretty sure the Hawaiian guy beating the crap out of the French dude is Kala Alexander, one of the original Da Hui guys and now competing on the SUP world tour. The "protectors" of the north shore. Woeful!!!!!!!!!!!

so the bloke paddles out during a contest at pipe. ignores 2 requests to go in. refuses to move again & throws the first punch. after copping a flogging he paddles out again. then on the beach gets lippy.
i think he got what he deserved. yeah it's heavy handed, but not like he didn't get several chances to escape before punches were thrown

I don't really see the big issue?? Doing the wrong thing, got plenty of warning. and was more than happy to have a go.

I don't condone fighting but if all parties are happy to get involved its good entertainment, how many of you didn't watch to the end? No one else jumped in, all one on one.

Second fight I think could have been pulled up a bit sooner.

What if the French bloke got one in and killed the bradda? What if, what if no one died!

As always there is 2 sides to a coin , I have seen an extended version ,this happened years ago about the start of the wolfpak era,the short boarder was surfing inside the bodyboarding competitons area, he was asked to repeatatly leave the area he refused and kept surfing Kainoa McGee paddled out and made him leave the area I'm not condoning what happened but he was asked numerous times

This could be a series of dumb questions........

who has the legal control of the area being surfed?

is access to the area only permitted for the competitors surfing?

or is it just a given that they take control of the area when they want to?

If the French fella was officially "tresspassing", why is it left up to a local thug to deal with him?
surely the event organisers can call in the local police [or whoever has legitimate authority] to remove him?

The donkey with the broken face was Californian, not french. Footage is about 10 years old. The yank got asked to leave the comp area by a local, yank responded by taking a swing. Not that I condone what happened on the beach, but judging by the two guys similtaneous reactions after starting to walk away, I'm guessing the yank couldn't swallow his pride and keep his mouth shut. It's not hard to show a bit of respect in someone elses home, it's ****ing stupid to show outward disrespect.
