Anyone else loving this show? Spacey is pretty awesome, it's really got me hanging for the next season!

It's like Americans can't make an original TV show. There is a better British mini series of the same name made about 20 years ago. Do you want to know the ending?

The American version of Life on Mars is an embarrassment.

Most yank remakes are far worse than the original. Having said that, the ep of Wilfred I watched seemed totally different and not too bad.

Yes, the yank house of cards is awesome. Mainly due to Spacey who is awesome in everything he's ever been in, although the wife and the reporter chick are perfectly cast as well. Apparently the director said when the cast assembled "you're all my first picks - don't f#ck it up"... and they didn't.

Also - first foray into TV production by Netflix. ie Dotcom company moving into TV. Major shift in the footings of the yank entertainment industry.

Moby - I bet you were into Nirvana before they were famous? Did you listen to Fat Boy Slim when he was mixing tracks in his garage?
Yes, lots of shows stem from other shows but the one called House of Cards on foxtel recently is awesome.

I only said the story was shown twenty years ago and done very well. Its no big secret. It would be pretty easy being an American TV exec, just watch the BBC to get some "inspirtation".

Anyway its good you enjoyed the show and you get your moneys worth out of your Foxtel subscription.

Simpsons
Mad Men
Breaking Bad
Arrested Development
Game of Thrones
Knight Rider
South Park
Chappelle's Show
etc. etc. etc.

PS I've heard the American version of House of Cards is a lot better than the BBC version, mainly due to Spacey.
I tried watching the American version of The Office ...and, well, yeah. Nup.

The list of American TV shows inspired by British shows is very long too. Most of them were probably crap and never became widely known, thankfully. Many would have been crap because they were based on bad British TV shows. Not to say there are not some brilliant original American shows.
