One of these babies.

I fly into work from my house in no time at all - without really pushing it i beat my best time by 10 mins.
The difference that skinny tyres and light frames make is unbelievable.
I am so happy i could sh!t

congrats
yeah, i was gonna comment on the luxurious seat.
What about some big easy rider handlebars
I pulled my old mountain bike out of the shed for the first time in about 5 years.
It all comes back to you quickley, like ........ i don't know what.
Enjoying the riding and might do it a bit more often, but i'm NOT riding 30k to work anyday soon.

Reli. Congrats. haha, we both got new toys :)

You'll loose those man boobs in no time. personally I prefer the handle bars lower and seat higher than pictured...That must make it all feel down hill. If you find you're getting less of a work out now just add maximum possible spokey dokeys and a flag to indicate wind speed and direction.

I had a Giant that got wheeled out of the back yard one night

I laugh when folk tell you they can buy a bike at K mart for $99. They are the same dunderheads who ride with their knees scraping their ears. You want to stop and help them raise the saddle.

Be careful and lock it up

Yea it will never be anywhere it has to be locked and at home its secure in the locked garage.
My work caters for bike riders perfectly.

I cycle in and out of work ever day now which is about 38kms round trip should measure it really.

My ride home today was great although heading into a light seabreeze i stopped and enjoyed a part of the river i rarely stop at. Fantastic.

Until the season starts and you need a car at work full of gear ready to go at a moment's notice?

Nice one PR!

I've got to get my bike out of the garage. It's a beautiful blue Shogun Alpine GT and it looks at me forlornly every time I go in there. It's just like this one except with a more comfy saddle to suit my heroic proportions:

Hmmm... Think I'll change my avatar as extra incentive.

Have you ever notice that wherever you live and work you always end up riding against the wind : normal morning wind and afternoon seabreeze.
It's been like that for me in Hobart for years.
Now in Sydney it's easy as there is never any wind... But I ride through National Park
Nice Bike, I like it. Funny how the top of the handle bar is aligned with the stem.

It must be spring fever, last week i picked up a really good nick 1970's 10speed at the tip that just needed oils and air. it was strange to get back on something so narrow and easy to pedal. and like your giant the seat will have to go. when i rode it into the bike shop to get a new gear change lever they thought i was bringing it in to put in thier museum. when i said I was going to ride it they sold me new tyres and tubes at half price .
the biggest lesson for me was that I suddenly felt vunerable on the roadwith my head down and bottom up , so when i got home i dug out a helmet and have started wearing one

Nice one reli! I wanna get a roadie soon!

as for the sore bumb are you wearing proper riding shorts? as stupid as the look they are very comfy as most have pads in them. i wear a pair that are for MTB and they are a bit kiter'esque

they have the tight lycra bike shorts underneath a normal pair of shorts and they are connected with pop studs. very comfy. u can find them and more here

www.chainreactioncycles.com/shorts-cycle

If they dont help then i think u just need to get used to it. or shave down there lol

im also the proud new owner of a shiney new bike!

Heres a piccy.. not a road bike tho, but still awesome!

That Lestef - is a sod.
I live south of the river, not far from freo so my route is through Applecross and up the freeway straight into the morning NE.
Then on the way home i am fortunate to have the seabreeze in my face all the way.
Great way to keep fit!!

Its ok i have a work car a that can indeed be 'employed' in an emergency

I also have two MTB.
Both are about 17 years old and both need some attention. One was given to me by my parents on my 21st birthday. They are going to be my summer projects.

Noice wheels PR.

You gonna need a good surgeon to extract that seat from yo fat @rse tho.

Super envious. Still flogging my early naughties Giant Upland to work. Like trying to swim upwind with floaties. At least my nads still function tho.

Chrissies comin. Suggestions for a sub $1k flat bar for commuting folks

But its a giant
Specialised Enduro

Perth has so many good bike paths to commute on - no car's getting up in your face

GF - TBE (the bicycle entrepeneaur) have great buying power with their 4 stores around Perth - more than Bike force. TBE were doing 50% off all single speed and fixed gear bikes a while back - amazing deals
