Mate, after having to move Perth - Cairns and having my car freighted up I would never do it again.
Car was collected 3 weeks before departure to arrive Cairns about the same time as me - pretty straight fwd up til now.
Arrived Cairns rang the transport company - "No Worries" they said "car is in Brisbane and will be delivered in the next couple of days" they said.
Seven days later and several phone calls I'm told "car is in Townsville, should be delivered tomorrow".
Minutes after they told me that I get a call from wife in Perth, "Guess what?" she said. "What?" said I.
"I just answered the door to a bloke who asked me where I wanted the car put as it wouldn't start", "What Car!?" I asked. "your Car" she replied.
So transport company had my car for over 4 weeeks and then had the nerve to deliver it back to the adress they collected it from.
One extremely irate phone call laced with sarcasm later, where I told them I would be in Townsville the next day and could I collect 'my car' from there depot I finally got them to admit they didn't know where it was.
I told them to ring their Perth office and ask them, they said they didn't have a Perth office. So then I told them that 'a Transport company in Perth (not the one who had originally collected it), had just tried to deliver it back to where it had come from. "Oh S***" was the reply, "I'll call you back".
A short time later I get a call from a sweet sounding girl who explained that the original carrier had sub contracted out to a second carrier who may or may not have sub let the contract to a third party. Her company was contracted to cart the car Bris - Cairns only.
I then informed the girl that I would be hiring a car (Top of the range Merc or BMW) and charging it to them if I didnt have answers by close of business the next day.
Next day a local hire car company delivered a small economical four cylinder machine with unlimited kilometers to me to use, I was 'allowed' to have it for a week with an option for a second week at no cost to me.
I also recieved a call from the carrier originally contracted to transport said vehicle, very apologetic and blamed everybody but themselves.
Result was car took almost 7 weeks to be delivered, would not start (battery flat suspect not the battery it had in it when collected), broken front passenger seat adjuster and in a filthy condition.
Insurance only covered the seat adjuster.

Do Yourself a Favour - Get a cheap flight over to Perth and drive it back.

I recently had a golf transported bris - perth. By prixcar (a subsidiary of toll) they were the cheapest then and delivered on time with no damage. No dramas.
Bought another car a couple weeks ago but this time prixcar weren't the cheapest but they were still competitive. But I went with ceva.
A relative is a car wholesaler and he swears by ceva. Reliable insurance and a trustworthy quality car carrier.
My car gets here tomorrow, shall let u know how it arrives.
