Hi, I'd like to know the final price for your AD on SEABREEZE as i would like to purchase. Do get back to me via: [email protected]

Trevor.

-----------------------------------------------------
Hi Trevor.

All the gear except the StarBoard Carve and its fins have been sold.

As I'm sure you're aware the 2006 Carves are now a quickly appreciating collectors' item. As such I probably don't need to explain why the are so special but will include the modifications I have made.

> - All inboard electrics have been upgraded to McKinley t3400s.

> - custom inlaid velour trim

> - brand new DeLorean defroster.

The board, apart from these improvements is in mint condition except for a mild infection in the gluteus maximus that could be repaired very easily.

An inspection is highly recommended, even just to see one in real life. For a small deposit you can even take it for a test ride.

I'm looking for offers of $5,000+.
I can ship worldwide. Fully insured.

Please get back to me as soon as possible as I did have another prospective buyer yesterday.

Thanks for the response,

I am very keen. How i wish i could come for viewing and inspection as am currently overseas at the moment and i want it picked up before i get back as i will be here for a couple of month. Due to my inability to make a bank deposit,  I would be paying via PayPal which is safer for me. Kindly send me a paypal payment invoice or create an account at  www.paypal.com.au if you dont have one. I will make a concrete pick up arrangement with my transport agent who will be coming over for pick up once you receive full payment into your PayPal account. Have a nice day. Few more photos will be appreciated as well.

Trevor.

I will make a concrete pick up arrangement with my transport agent ( quote )

He sounds pretty real and strong, after all he is into making concrete and then picking it up with his transport agent, i wonder what they do with it then?

What luck for you Kenneth. I work in a transport company and because of the special relationship I have with some of our offshore processing officers, and customs officers in countries such as Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, I can send you the board, in a board bag, for a very special price.

You just have to be able to collect the board, and a few other items that will arrive in the same shipment. The shipment, in case you are wondering, is boogie board bags.

If you agree to accept the entire package I can even pay you some money. I can offer you $AU250 upon you accepting the shipment and delivering it to a colleague.

I can't reduce the price of the board, so I will have to pay you for accepting the shipment separately. It is because it will go through my company.

Are you interested? I am especially looking for a shipping acceptance officer in Malaysia as my last one had an accident.

Please reply as soon as you can.

Find attached a picture of one of my bitches on the 2006 Starboard Carve. As you can see it is the real deal.

Alas I have had too much fun and lost the fish. He kept me amused while shacked up all lonely in a hotel room for a while though.

This is actually the second one I've had, that's how I knew from the very first email. The second email is obviously a giveaway. The last guy I just annoyed the hell out of for nearly two weeks. I was such a confused puppy. Hopefully annoyed him no end.

If you play along a bit softer you get your quoted amount plus a "transport fee" that you are supposed to send to a transport company called, wait for it, Impediment Transport.

Now, some of you like me have probably been wondering for years why they make it so damn obvious they are scamming. They often clearly state they are from Nigeria for example. Or they have transport companies called Impediment Transport. etc. etc.

The reason, the really good and very clever reason, is that they are weeding out the smart people. Of the thousands of emails they send they only want to attract the dumb people. That's quite ingenious.

White paper here (just read the abstract):

In terms of maliciousness, it's not near but you might want to have a look at this thread....

Had one when I was selling my push bike, told him I did not have Paypal and asked if he could deposit the money into my visa account instead if I gave him the card number, expiry date, card name, and 3 digit security number, he was so excited to help me out, but really wanted me to set up a PayPal account.

Strung him along for a while then asked to confirm that he was not trying to trick me because I really needed the money to support my terminally sick wife, I think he finally cottoned on but I had him on the line for about 10 days.

There is a web site dedicated to stringing these guys on, I can never remember the name of it, but they use a network ocross the world to really reverse the tables on these parasites.

I think he cooled on the deal when you told him about the t3400 series electrics mod. Although they were good electrics they were never a good fit on the 2006 Starboard Carves. They were ok on the 2007 models but when retro fitted to the 2006 and earlier Starboard Carves, the results could be very disappointing.

The last few emails from the first scammer:

Kenneth Samuels [email protected] 5 Jun

Whats going on? PayPal will be taking legal actions immediately if the fees is not sent out as requested

5 Jun to Kenneth
What fees? You're paying me. Silly. There are no fees.

When do you want to pick the gear up?

Kenneth Samuels [email protected] 5 Jun
Read through the payment confirmation

5 Jun to Kenneth
Yeah. Got your money. Thank you.

6 Jun to Kenneth
Just thought you should know I talked to the transport company and they are coming next week to pick up the gear. You should have it by the week after, so definitely by the end of June.

Happy sailing!

By the way I'm going to be in Kuala Lumpur next week for a party. Should be very, very good. Since you are a fellow windsurfer I've got you a place. check it out here

www . lemonparty . org

FOR GOD'S SAKE do not click on that last link. I haven't even clicked it myself. I just know approximately what's there. I'm serious.

Not safe for work. Not safe for life.

(edit: Seabreeze, very smartly, wouldn't even let me post the link as is. Had to chop it up. anyway. DO NOT go there)

edit edit: queue all the lame windsurfer jokes.

Anyway, that was the last I heard from him.
