congrats too mintox ever considered him as an added weight belt at the speed pits so he gets the vibrations of going faaast..as the guys said and i believe too they grow pretty fast and i want them to stop growing and stay the way as is...just plump, cuddly, annoying, adorable and as poor relative sums it up 'little sleep and endless worry!'

no need for the shotgun though as long as your fists are bigger than his till then he obeys[}:)] nah..just enjoy and regards to wifey

Cheers NotWal heaps, I am getting why people do it and the transition has been instant, I asked my wife when we should have another one.

Here is the last bit of NotWals story,

Willy, for this is what we named our newborn, was doing everything right. He started feeding later that day and went on to establish what came to be the habits of a lifetime namely nosh and sleep and grow. As he grew he became more beautiful. He eventually got to a point where he was so ****ing adorable that people would stop us in shopping centres just to admire the little cherub, and we fell head over heels in love with him. Jesus that was good. Anyway, Will was such a hit we had two more. Sometimes I regret that we stopped at three, but we wouldn’t have been able to do them justice. Love’ll only get you so far. You have to eat too.

I reckon we let him post it, or start another thread and put it up, it's a great compliment for him to send it to me so I encourage it be made public

Thanks gain to everyone, I do like the idea that he be used as weight for speed sailing

GT the happy Dad

Hey congratulations to you and your better half. Having kids is a bit like windsurfing, in that you don't realise how great and rewarding it is until you've done it. Only a parent knows that feeling of holding your little offspring.
(After a couple of years you'll also start to appreciate your own parents a lot more too, and what they went through with you!)

Maaaan o maaaan!

I'm stuffed, 8 days in and the little fella is the master of keeping Mum and Dad awake

I wont update this every week as it would be very rude, BUT! at the moment the experience is friggin awsome, he can scare me, make me sweat, make me wipe his bum, make me laugh, get me frustrated, he gets me to hum twinkle twinkle little star, he's a bloody control freak

Sometimes I think he is a alien working for the intergalactic federation of, Universe "Sleep Depravity"!

It's all good, anyone know when will his umbilical scab fall off?

Cheers

Yeah.... kids are little psychopaths - utterly selfish, manipulative and totally lacking in empathy, but you just want to please them don't you. Isn't nature wonderful.

It can take from one to three weeks, depending on healing rates and how well it was cut. Don't worry, it'll just fall off when it's ready. Just make sure that you are drying the area well after bub has a bath.
When the scab is just half coming off it can get gooky underneath. (you know, stinky like toe jam....) To keep it clean and avoid infection dilute some detol and clean under and around with a cotton ball or ear bud.

Congrats n enjoy.

Gross,

But he is a cracker, so diluted detol it will be, I have been gently pulling his tummy skin while holding the scab to let me get a tissue in to dab around, looks ok, not to gooky yet.

Thanks S_chick
