You know what I mean.

The thing that broke me today is medicare. What happened to the old system where they'd do the paperwork, directly with the provider? To be honest I do not understand the change.

Also I fly a lot and I've actually noticed the announcements getting longer and longer. The list of things to turn off before we take off is bordering on ridiculous. They pretty much don't shut up until we've landed.

...actually now I think of it Irvine summed it up beautifully

Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a ****ing big television, Choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players, and electrical tin can openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol and dental insurance. Choose fixed-interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisure wear and matching luggage. Choose a three piece suite on hire purchase in a range of ****ing fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the **** you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing ****ing junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pissing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, ****ed-up brats you have spawned to replace yourself. Choose your future. Choose life

...****ing dental insurance.

I feel a mid-life crisis... who am I kidding? It's started.

It could be a sign of ageing, do you find you can no longer be bothered to tinker with something and just want to plug it in and it works?

Man. Mine comes with Monday show-and-tell performances, swimming carnivals, parent-teacher nights, grandparents days, like 3 emails a week about something I've got to take notice of at school, annual show night, end of year concert, end of year assembly thing, birthday parties, friend's birthday parties (every weekend looking forward until the end of the year, for some reason all his friends are born in seabreeze season), make breakfast, make lunch, make dinner, make snack, find that tv show, fix this toy, fix that toy, build this thing, break up the fight with little sister, wipe arse, take to doctor, get new shoes for, drive to school, drive fom school, drop off at nanny's, pick up from nanny's, launch Angry Birds, redo dozens of levels for him when he accidentally deletes Angry Birds, tend to cuts and bruises from bike accidents, wipe arse again...

... and then there's the girl.

It's good to vent evlPanda, especially when the younguns are so young...every parent needs to!!

Mine are now 8 (today!!) and 11 and way back yonder I never thought I would survive. But you do....and thank the Gods or Dogs that you have a Nanny in your life to help out...this little black duck never did while I had a screamer glued to my tit or over my shoulder for the first two years of her life (literally..no joke).

The rewards are endless...the screamer is now The Wookie who skateboards, cycles, is my autopilot on the boat, drools with her mama over the bigger faster cats that we aspire to own, and can't wait to get big enough to learn to kitesurf...she is amazing!!!

The other one is just as amazing in a deep as the deep blue sea way!!! She's the one who will sit on the foredeck and research and classify every creature we have seen on the beach or in the water.

They're special mate....but anything that's special is hard work.

About your girl....don't ever let that slip....this is the danger time that you have to remain ever vigilant through to keep the passion alive, the fire burning. Sadly, some of us don't make it. Utilise that Nanny to take The Girl out on hot dates and make sure you treat her like a woman, not the mother of your children...find the time, find the energy.

All the other **** in life is just that...materialistic, meaningless, ****....love and life is what keeps it all together. If you miss a bday party; email; school gig;....big woop...let go, do what you can.

Stay strong and get plenty of ocean time

Wake up in the morning, get something for the pot
Wonder why the sun makes the rocks feel hot
Draw on the walls, eat, get laid
Back in the good old days

Then some damn fool invents the wheel
Listen to the white walls squeal
Spend all day looking for a parking spot
Nothing for the heart, nothing for the pot

My policy is not to buy anything for myself or family that promises it will improve my life that has been designed by someone in a big office who doesn't have a life.

...in reality I actually don't live by this policy but its nice to keep in mind while you drive down to have a sail and you look around at all the those that will be playing with their gadgets of frustration for the rest of the afternoon.

I'm constantly looking for something new. Just finding it a bit hard to find something i'm interested in with reasonable $$$. I'm prepared to take a paycut for a bit of job satisfaction.
I'm getting married in March next year so I'm kinda waiting to get that out of the way first.
Once that and the honeymoon is out the way I'm all over it!
